Wosan is a self-care game catering for young adults from the African diaspora, a population at disproportionately high risk of life dissatisfaction.
APPROACH
Wosan means “healing” in Yoruba, a language spoken mostly in Benin and Nigeria, West Africa. The concept of the game builds on my research findings from Às̩e̩. It allows us to disconnect from a reality that can be exhausting and restore ourselves through activities like journaling and Afrofuturistic visualization via game play. In this virtual safe space, the user is guided through different “worlds” that each hold a healing activity to experience. The clip below shows the look and feel of the first world, centered around journaling.
