VISION
I wanted the program’s internet home to:
01.
Speak to the brain, to the gut, and to the senses.
02.
Introduce what the program is, who it serves, and what we work on. I wanted to transcribe a felt experience as clearly as possible, in a way easily consumed.

Act as a signal. A “cawkaw” my community could feel, resonate with and respond to.

Working on this end-to-end has been super expansive. It has looked like this.

COPY
The brunt of the copy work took place in Google Docs. I wanted to zero in on the words I was using, vs. getting too deep into format, order, etc. I broke the doc into 5 gestural sections:
- Home
- Program Overview
- Program Structure
- Overall Testimonials
- About Page

DESIGN
With a clear sense of what I wanted to communicate, I started to put the Lego blocks together, design-wise. I began with desktop, but pivoted to mobile-first since the folks visiting the site usually arrive via social apps. The reduced real estate allowed me to get super focused and intentional about what I was choosing to include. I made it much easier to identify bits that were superfluous.
Visually, I wanted something that felt sculptural, alien, but also straight to the point. Getting “there” definitely felt like creative birth: uncomfortable and tedious, but also exciting to see the baby take shape in front of my eyes. That night at 4am when it finally felt true to what I intended it to be, that was priceless.

I set up hosting for the site, and I am currently building it on the self-hosted side of WordPress. I am planning to launch it into the internets of web before 2024, and will add the link here once it’s done. Keep your eyes peeled!
